The President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Madam Isha Johansen, has on Thursday 27th July, 2017, spoke on a range of issues around the association, which she said, have been particularly worrying not only for the football family in Sierra Leone, but at home and abroad, as football infighting seemed to have found its way into being almost common place acceptance in our society.
FC Johansen and Republic Of Sierra Leone Armed Force (RSLAF) will go head to head this weekend with their counterparts Fath Union Sport de Rabat (FUS Rabat) of Morocco and Nigerian side Wikki Tourist FC at the Siaka Stevens stadium respectively in the first leg of the 53th edition of the Total CAF Champions league and CAF Confederation Cup preliminary qualifiers respectively.
The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) LEOCEM FA Cup has reached the round of 32 after Sierra Leone Police edged Leicester City 4-3 on post-match penalties after a goalless draw in the Western Area District finals. The round of 32 would be played in a home and away basis with the away goal rule taken into consideration.
The first leg matches will be played on the 16th, 17th and 18th July while the return leg will be on the 23rd, 24th and 25th July. The winners of each of the 16 fixtures will bag Two Million, five hundred thousand Leones as progression fee to the round of 16.

Mighty Blackpool defeated EE Lions 5-4 on post game penalty at the Brima Atouga complex in a three-day gala organized by the Western Area Sports Promoters.East End Lions have lost only once in the league in this season and Mourinho is rely on the country`s inform striker Donald Wellington to do the job against their arch rivals. Mighty Blackpool have failed to registered a win in their three previous fixtures as they sit bottom with two points. They have conceded two goals away from home which is better than their opponent defensive record this season.However East End Lions will have to go for the win to move two points clear over league leaders Bo Rangers.

Head coach of Mighty Blackpool Abu Sankoh aka `Short Abu` said he`s optimistic of beating his former club tomorrow. He said: "We are going to be much fresher after that goalless draw against Diamond Stars last," said Sankoh."Even though we are yet to secure a win this season, but we have shown in the last two games what we are capable of doing. "I don't think it will be a major factor on Saturday."My boys have shown we are side to reckon with and I don't think there will be any problems in terms of motivation," he said."I always say it is more mental than physical and the two teams will go for it tomorrow."
FC Kallon Vs Ports Authority
Meanwhile, FC Kallon who defeated Mighty Blackpool will play host to Ports Authority in another mouth-watering on Sunday at the Siaka Steven stadium. Ports Authority are going in Sunday`s fixture with a better record over FC Kallon. The `Water Front Boys` played to a 1-1 draw with Central Parade last week and they have failed to register a win in their last two previous matches after they played to goalless draw with Gem Stars in match day one. Kallon defeated Mighty Blackpool 1-0 last week and head coach Amidu Karim has urged his young boys to continue that winning mentality against Ports Authority in Sunday`s clash.
Writing to FIFA as Chairman of the Sierra Leone Football Association Stakeholders Consultative Forum, Alhaji Unisa Alim Sesay, has taken exception to the patronizing tone of FIFA's letter with regards corruption allegations against SLFA President, Isha Johansen, and two SLFA officials.
Former Sierra Leone skipper Ibrahim Kargbo has vehemently denied the fresh match-fixing allegations dating back between 2006 and 2010.The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) today said they have uncovered evidence against the former Willem II midfielder who allegedly attempted to fix a match in the Dutch league.Kargbo, 33, claimed he had no knowledge of the allegations when he was asked by this medium.
On Saturday, 30th July, 2016, Liverpool Football Club Sierra Leone (LFC Salone) completed their inaugural match with a 2-2 tie with Soccer Saturday of Lumley, at the M.A.F.A .field Lumley. A first half goal from Austin Small and second half goal from LFC Salone Captain, Chernor Maju Bah, were cancelled by second half goals from former Leone Stars International, Kemokai Kallon and Ibrahim Koroma respectively.
The Dutch Football Association says it has uncovered evidence of match-fixing by former Sierra Leone international Ibrahim Kargbo.It is alleged that in August 2009 Kargbo, then a Willem II player, tried to fix a match against FC Utrecht.
